If you've been listening to Soundstatues for a while, then you'll know that I often veer into electronic territory. It's not a conscious decision; it's simply a matter of composing music which makes me excited. (And hopefully, you find it exciting, too!)

After two straight-up, traditional format rock songs, I felt I needed to flex other creative muscles, or else I'd stagnate. You'll recognize two of the songs on this album from previous releases, but I started from the ground up and I reworked the songs into a more appealing format.

The opening instrumental "This City Will Kill Us All" is a wink to my everlasting love for New York City, my home of ten years. This is such a great place to live, but sometimes, it really does feel like this city is going to kill all of us living here.

One song I'm particularly fond of is "Madly." That song came about as I was sitting at my desk, head heavy with jet-lag (I had just returned from my Japan tour), just plunking away at my keyboard miserably. Then that riff appeared. It just appeared on my keyboard, and I recorded it.

Within an hour, the song was completely done. Then I laid down on my couch, blacked out, and woke up with a headache at 3am.

I hope you can find something to enjoy on this album. I know it's a big departure from the previous albums, but it's a hint of what's to come.
